NEW Library 2018-22 Strategic Plan
revised 1/11/2018
Since June 2017, Library Trustees have soliticted feedback from staff, outside groups, and residents regarding the next 4 year strategic plan. The Trustees approved the final version of the plan at their 1/10/2018 meeting.  Click HERE to download a pdf version.

This plan is a living document that will be reviewed and revised quarterly by the Library Board of Trustees and Staff. If you would like to provide input about the goals of the library, please reach out to Martin Walters, Library Director, at 224-7113 or, or attend one of the monthly Trustee meetings (dates can be found on the Library Calendar).
Community Group Feedback - Fall 2017
In preparation for our new 2018-2021 Strategic Plan, the Library Trustees and Director visited six different community groups and asked for their feedback regarding community priorities, needs, and how the library may be able to help in those areas. We've compiled all of the feedback into a Summary Document (pdf) for residents to access. The 2018-21 Strategic Plan will be available in January 2018.

Our new strategic plan will incorporate many of suggestions we heard, and we appreciate the time the following groups allowed us to have in order to get their viewpoints:

Bow Rotary Executive Board
Bow Garden Club
Bow Men's Club
Bow Business Development Commission
SAU #67 Administrative Team
Bow School Board

2016 Library Survey results/implementation
The Library Survey which is conducted every four years, helps to guide the Library's long range strategic planning process.  The Library Trustees and staff will be working on the new plan for 2018 through 2021 during the new year.  In the meantime, we will be doing a couple of things throughout 2017 to keep you informed about the results of the survey or to provide more information you've asked for:
  • Every month starting in January, our enewsletter and web site will highlight one area of feedback we received through the survey.  This month, we've focused onthe DVD lending period change.
  • A number of survey respondents have asked for more information about the staff at the Library.  While we need to honor the privacy requests by some staff and Trustees to not have their picture as a permanent part of the Library web site, we will be doing a Staff Member/Trustee profile each month.  This profile will appear in the newsletter and on the home page of the web site for that particular month.
  • The survey revealed a strong need for more technology troubleshooting and learning in our community.  We will be exploring avenues to provide that service and information to our patrons.  We're looking at partnering with BHS to provide a monthly tech lab for walk-in troubleshooting, a monthly email blast highlighting two or three tech how-to's, and a new page on the web site compiling tech info into one place for one-stop shopping.
As always, if you have questions, please contact Martin Walters, Library Director, at
