Library Closures for Memorial Day Weekend
The Library will CLOSE EARLY at 2 p.m. on Saturday 5/23/2015 for the annual carpet cleaning.  The Library will remain CLOSED on Sunday 5/24 and Monday 5/25, in observance of Memorial Day.  We will re-open at our normal time of 10 a.m. on Tuesday 5/26.

Remember that our book drop and CD/DVD drop are available 24/7, and renewals and reserves can be placed through the online catalog on the web site.

Library Assistant - Technology Position Available
Application deadline Friday 6/5/2015
The Library is seeking to fill a part-time Library Assistant - Technology position.  This 18-hour per week, year-round position focuses on providing customer service to patrons at the circulation desk, as well as providing technology expertise to the public and staff through initiatives, classes, events, and social media.  The successful application must show competency in multiple areas of technology literacy, and should enjoy interacting with the public and exhibit an attention to detail. 

The year-round hours for the position include:
Mondays 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Wednesdays 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Alternating Fridays 1-7 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
**These hours are non-negotiable. If you have a regular conflict on any of these days, please do not apply**

TEMPORARY PM Circulation Assistant position available

The Library is seeking to fill a TEMPORARY part-time PM Circulation Desk Assistant position for June/July 2015, focused on interacting with Library users at our main desk. The successful applicant should enjoy interacting with the public, be comfortable working with technology, exhibit a professional demeanor and attention to detail, and possess excellent communication skills. High school students 14 years of age and older whose schedule allows for a year-round commitment are encouraged to apply.

The days/hours for the position are:
Thursdays 6/25, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16 & 7/23, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturdays 6/27, 7/11 & 7/25, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Helping Charlotte Buxton
Retired library employee Charlotte Buxton is in need of our help.  Not only is she fighting cancer, but her house on Bow Center Road was heavily damaged by fire on Sunday night 4/26.  A fund has been set up to help her at Merrimack County Savings Bank, with all donations going directly to Charlotte. To make a donation, please visit any Merrimack County Savings Bank branch and make your donation to the Charlotte Buxton Donation Fund.  

Cards and get-well wishes can be dropped off at the Library, and we'll get them to Charlotte.

Library Board of Trustees Monthly Meeting
Next meeting on 6/1/2015
The Baker Free Library Board of Trustees meets the second Wednesday every month except July or when scheduling conflicts arise.

The next meeting of the Library Trustees will be held on Monday June 1, 2015 at 5 p.m. in the Library's Meeting Room.  The next regular monthly meeting will be held Wednesday June 10, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. in the Library's Meeting Room. Members of the public are welcome to attend and listen to any meeting.  A special meeting of the Trustees as part of the Lower Level Renovation Committee will take place on Wednesday June 3, 2015 at 7 p.m. in Meeting Room B of the Town Municipal Building, 10 Grandview Road.
